Skylight Installation β€” Our Specialty

VELUX certified installation that transforms dark rooms with natural light, installed to manufacturer spec so your warranty holds and your ceiling stays dry.

Why a skylight

Natural light changes everything

Kitchens, bathrooms, stairwells, and hallways in most GTA homes were never designed for daylight. A properly placed skylight brings in up to 3Γ— more light than a same-size wall window β€” and a venting model releases heat and humidity too.

Fixed Skylights

Maximum light, sealed unit, lowest cost. Ideal for hallways, stairwells, and living rooms where ventilation isn't needed.

Manual & Electric Venting

Opens to release heat and humidity β€” the right choice for kitchens and bathrooms. Rain sensors close electric models automatically.

Solar-Powered

Solar venting skylights open and close with no wiring needed β€” and may qualify for energy-efficiency incentives.

The part you don't see

Curb construction & waterproofing

A skylight is only as good as what's around it. Most skylight leaks aren't the skylight β€” they're the curb and flashing. We build and waterproof every curb to manufacturer specification.

  • Custom curb construction β€” built for your roof pitch and skylight model, including circular curbs and domes.
  • Full flashing kits β€” genuine VELUX flashing matched to your roofing material, never improvised.
  • Ice-and-water membrane β€” critical for GTA winters and freeze-thaw cycles.
  • Interior finishing available β€” drywall shaft, taping, and paint-ready finish so light reaches the room.

Replacing an old skylight?

Skylights from the 1990s–2000s are usually past their sealed-unit life: foggy glass, condensation, drafts, or stains around the frame. Replacing during a roof replacement saves money β€” the flashing work is already open. Ask us to quote both together.

Common questions

Skylight FAQ

How much does a skylight installation cost in the GTA?

Most residential installations fall between $2,500 and $6,000+ depending on the skylight model, roof type, curb work, and interior finishing. Every job gets a written quote after a site visit β€” no guessing from photos.

Will a skylight leak?

Not when it's installed to manufacturer spec. Leaks come from improvised flashing and poor curb work. As VELUX certified installers we use the full genuine flashing system and ice-and-water membrane β€” that's why VELUX warranties hold on our installs.

How long does installation take?

A standard installation is typically completed in one day. Adding interior shaft finishing (drywall, taping) adds 1–2 days.

Do I need a permit?

Simple like-for-like replacements usually don't. New openings that modify roof framing may β€” we'll tell you upfront and help with what's needed.

What about winter? Can you install year-round?

Peak season is April–November, but replacements and repairs are possible in winter when conditions allow. Booking a winter assessment gets you first in line for spring.
